Your safety comes first

Thank you for being honest. When fear is part of a relationship, the first step is your safety, and couples counselling usually isn't the right starting point. You deserve support from people who specialize in this, and you don't need to be certain about anything before you reach out.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

For confidential support, any time of day:

I'm Karla Kamerman, a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) who has worked with couples for more than 25 years.

My work is practical and focused on what helps day to day: breaking communication loops, sharing the mental load, setting boundaries, and navigating ADHD in relationships.

I've trained in couples intensives with Dr. Ellyn Bader of The Couples Institute. I see clients online across Ontario, and offer the Couples Reset Intensive in person in the Stouffville area.

This check-in draws on decades of relationship research, including John Gottman's work on conflict and connection.
